Stock Account churra-stock

Tue May 29, 2007, 4:27 PM
I had gotten some good comments about the few pieces I had put up as stock. Looking at some of the stock out there I realized I have a hard drive full of stuff that is at least as good :)

I don't touch the image in any way. You might see it a bit different than I do so I will let those that use it make any adjustments they deem fit.

You might want to watch that account as well as most of it hasn't been posted on this one. (there will be exceptions of course) If you see something on this account you would like as stock, let me know. We might be able to work something out.

There isn't much there yet, but let me know what you think so far.

Fred Photo Team

Tue May 1, 2007, 5:54 PM
I responded to an offer from Fredericksburg.com which is the online edition of our local paper the Freelance-Star to become a member of the Fred Photo Team. We are a group of volunteers who go to community events and take pictures. They aren't as interested in the performers/event as the people there (people like looking through pictures to see if there is one of their kid.)
Today was the first event. A lunch time concert in Hurkamper Park. Now when I took them my disk the comment was make "you took a lot of pictures" well duh, eh? Around 460. Give me my camera and something to shot and it is party time.
They have posted the pictures on Fredericksburg.com. The one in the top left corner telling about the photos is one of mine.
The pictures are at this link. [link]
Those are the ones that are showcased. (Mine run from 11-27) They also have those and others in my gallery.

Now there are a few that I wouldn't have posted as not perfect, although one that falls into that group is also one of my favorites # 25. I just love the expression this girl has.

Let me know what you think and which ones you liked. There are a ton more but with the contract I can't post the others during the first 30 days.

Sorry about this being long winded, but I think it was worth standing around in 86 degree weather. :)

New all time record

Wed Apr 4, 2007, 6:05 PM
Last Saturday 3.31, I went down to Virginia Beach, VA with my friend Cricket. I of course took my digital rebel xt that hadn't seen a lot of use over the winter. Boy did it get used that day.
I hit a new time high for me. I went through a 2 gig card and part of another one, for a total of 948 pictures.
It will take a while to get all the stuff posted that I like from that day.
I am getting close to the magic 10,000 mark with that camera and can't quite remember what happens then...something about the count starting over. When you stop to think that I got that camera last August, I really take a lot of pictures :)
Ah well, off to post some more.

Scary stuff

Sat Mar 24, 2007, 8:12 PM
I was coming home last night about 10:30 from work. Took the exit from the freeway closes to my house...not the usual one I take. It is long and a pretty good grade with some bends. I come around the last bend towards the bottom when I see a car coming the wrong way in my lane. Not sure if there was anyone in the lane next to me...tell you the truth no idea what this oncoming car was going to do. Just hit the brakes and the horn, bout when I said damn she is gonna hit me she managed to slow up and pull off to the side. I swear we didn't have a car length between us. Steered around her and kept going...glancing back saw everyone had seen was happening and stopped. No idea what happened to her, that isn't the best exit to try and stop on...I am glad see didn't make it to the freeway. Let me tell you when I got to the store about 3 blocks away where I had been headed I need that shopping cart.
What is it with drivers today? That morning I had seen a gal coming the opposite direction suddenly turn across the turn lane and my lane into a gas station. She didn't want gas mind you, the old gal just wanted to turn around going across 2 lanes of traffic to do it.
So all is well, but I sure spotted a Pale Horse in the area.

On a lighter note, my rescue cat Bubba is fat and sassy. He is the twin of Connor my old guy. It is so hard to tell them apart that even Meg my girl kitty mixes them up. I finally put a collar on Bubba and was amazed that he not only doesn't seem to mind but didn't take my hand off trying. He was standoffish at first but now sleeps on the end of my bed and will come up and lay on me.

Well this has become a novella so time to call it quits. Thanks for reading if you have gotten this far.. :)

Hugs all

Devious Journal Entry

Well I finally did it, went out and got a Canon Digital Rebel XT....I love that camera...so far not quite getting the pictures I know I can...but once I get the difference lens I am sure that will change...(lots of the stuff I shoot isn't right in my face)
Also seem to have aquired another cat, Bubba Cat....he looks like he could be Connor's son....best we can figure around here is that he was abandoned, very skinny, but starting to fill out. He gets along well with the others, tho they all fight at times. Once I get him snipped he will be welcome in the house for longer than to eat...figure he is bout 8-9 months old...a real sweetie.
